Bali

Bali – aka the island of gods – is placed between the islands of Java and Lombok. It is composed of seven provinces: Badung, Bangli, Buleleng, Denpasar (the capital city), Gianyar, Jembrana, Karangasem, Klungkung, Tabanan, Kota. The weather in Bali is quite stable throughout the year, with the average temperature around 30 degrees and high humidity. There is a monsoon season from December to March with quite often heavy rains. Most of the population in Bali is Hindu, although various religious minorities can be found there, the biggest is the Muslim one.

Bali is an island for everybody. You can find there black sand beaches, inland rice fields or plenty of beautiful Hindu temples. The most famous are the temple Pura Luhur Batukaru or Pura Ulun Danu Bratan. The city of Budu is located inland and is a very popular touristic center that is worth visiting. The Monkey Forest, neighboring Ubudu, is a great trip destination where you can find quite cheeky monkeys.

If you find the island too small for you, you can travel to nearby islands of Gilli, Nusa Penida or Lombok. It is easy to get there as the ship transport works pretty well. As regards traveling on the island itself, almost everybody uses scooters or rents a car with a driver. Cuisine in Bali is delightful. In local restaurants, called Warung, you can try meals containing rice, noodles or seafood that is truly excellent. There are also many street stalls with local street food, including various kinds of exotic fruits. There are different types of accommodation in Bali, and everybody will surely choose. Prices for accommodation are acceptable as well as for almost everything what can Bali offer 🙂
